Pokhara Lakeside driving towards a ‘vehicle free’ zone

From Hallanchowk to Barahi Chowk, the 1.5 km stretch (as shown in blue dots in image) of Lakeside is all set to be a ‘Vehicle-free’ zone.
After successful implementation of ‘Vehicle-Free Zone’ in major tourist hubs of Kathmandu, Lake Side, Pokhara has decided to follow suit. The lakeside ”vehicle-free’ zone policy will be implemented in phases to test the response. From March 23 onward, Hallanchowk to Barahi Chowk will be ‘vehicle-free’ from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays only – the peak rush hours.
