Heavy rains in the north, valley rivers expected to rise

The Department of Hydrology has advised Kathmandu residents, especially living near the river banks of Bagmati, Manohara, Dhobi Khola, Shali Nadi as the probability of flash floods remain high. Water levels in the rivers are expected to rise sharply.

Areas north of the valley, Sundarijal, Shivapuri and Sankhu are experiencing heavy rainfall. Rivers in the valley (Nepal) usually flow from the north to the south, accumulating water as they cross the valley, thus the need to practice extra caution.
