At least five people died after a passenger bus collided with a truck at Chumlingtar in Ichyakamana-3 along the Prithvi Highway on Friday.
According to Chitwan Police Office, Spokesperson DSP Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, two women and three men died in the accident leaving 25 others injured. The injured have been taken to Bharatpur for further medical treatment.
The passenger bus (Na 6 Kha 2506) en route to Pokhara from Kathmandu had collided with the truck (Na 5 Kha 7409) heading for Muglin before falling some 70 meters down the road at around 11:55am.
As per the rescuers at the incident site, the bus fell into a gap just above the Trishuli River.
The police further informed that the rescue works have been completed.
