Sandeep Lamichhane, we mean bowling sensation Sandeep Lamichhane, in his first match for the Melbourne Stars, in his debut over for the team, took two wickets. In the second ball of his over, he tossed up the delivery and got Watson caught at long-on, and in the last ball of the over, Callum Ferguson was out (caught and bowled).
Lamichhane is the first Nepalese cricketer to play for the Big Bash League in Australia, and is already building a reputation down under. Days ago, Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell called Lamichhane ‘an absolute star’, and said his bowling was similar to Afghani Rashid Khan.
“He’s probably not as strong and well developed but the way he has deception with his fast arm action (is similar to Rashid Khan),” Maxwell had said.
The Melbourne Stars are playing the Sydney Thunders in Canberra. The Stars have been given a 182 run target, and are yet to bat.
