Six killed in road accident

Six people died in separate road accidents in Kailali, Kathmandu, Tanahun and Kavre districts on Sunday night and Monday.

Three people were killed in two separate motorcycle accidents at Tikapur of Kailali district on Sunday night.

Jiba Nanda Koirala, 38, and Bishnu Rimal, 27, of Tikapur-7 died when their motorcycle crashed at Tikapur-7 at around 8:30 pm, police said.

Likewise, Ashish Chaudhary of the same disrict died when his motorcycle collided with a stationary tractor at Tikapur Municipality-2. Pillion rider Mahendra Chaudhary, who was injured in the accident, was taken to Tikapur Hospital. In another incident, a traffic police officer was killed in a two-wheeler accident at Ekantakuna in Lalitpur on Sunday night.

The officer identified as Suman Prasad Kandel was found injured by a motorist. He died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

In Tanahun, a pedestrian died after he was hit by a bus in Bandipur Rural Municipality-4 on Sunday night.  Police said Bikas Gandharva of Bhanu Municipality-1, who was seriously injured in the incident, died during treatment.

Police have seized the driver and the vehicle for investigation. In Kavre, a motorcyclist died when he crashed nearly 20 metres down the road at Roshi

Rural Municipality-11 on Monday.
