NMA threatens to halt all hospital services

The Nepal Medical Association (NMA), who are staging a relay hunger protest across the nation to press the government to save Dr KC, threatened to shut down all hospital services except for emergency, if the government does not take any initiative to address the demands of Dr KC by Tuesday.

Hospital services across the nation were partially affected due to the relay hunger protest on Monday.

Dr Govinda KC, the senior orthopedic surgeon, also termed as a “medical crusader” has been staging his 16th fast-unto-death strike since Jan 9, despite the endorsement of the National Medical Education Bill with some amendments to it in the parliament on last Friday.

His health is deteriorating, since he has refused to take medicine which has to be taken orally.
