‘Give us legit bills’ – one of the many demands of Gandaki Medical College students

Students of Gandaki Medical Students are continuing their protest against the administration. Organising a protest rally, hundreds of students walked the streets of Pokhara drawing attention to their case. The students, claiming to fight the ‘medical mafia’ say the institution is charging them higher fees than designated by the government. They are demanding the excess fees be rightfully returned to the students and the institution charge fees as mandated by the government.

Amongst their list of demands, one also was the ‘issuance of legitimate bills of the exact amount paid by students.’ The protests by Gandaki Medical College students has been ongoing – on Feb 6, they padlocked the hospital’s OPD as a sign of protest.
