Ms. Anushka Shrestha has been crowned ‘Miss Nepal 2019’ in Hidden Treasure’s grand finale on Thursday evening. A radiant Shrestha received her crown from Miss Nepal World 2018 Ms. Shrinkhala Khatiwada amidst much galore and cheer. Ms. Shrestha will hold the coveted title for approximately a year (until Miss Nepal 2020 is crowned). She will represent Nepal in Miss World 2019 scheduled to be held in December in Thailand. Ms. Shrestha also won the Kathmandu Post Miss Intellectual and Miss Fascino.
Similarly, Pradeepta Adhikari was crowned Miss Nepal Universe respectively. She will be representing Nepal in Miss Universe 2019 in South Korea. Ms. Adhikari was also named the Gold Star Best Athlete and N-mag Miss Talent.
Riya Basnet was crowned Miss Nepal Earth, Meera Kakshapati Miss Nepal International, and Rose Lama Miss Supranational Nepal – the three will be representing Nepal in their title categories respectively. Miss Supranational Nepal Rose Lama bagged two other titles: Berger Miss Glamour and Creative D Studio Miss Photogenic. Miss Nepal Earth Riya Basnet also won Miss Popular Choice Award.
Nepal’s largest beauty pageant, this is Nepal’s 24 edition of Miss Nepal organised by Hidden Treasure. The seven finalists were posed with this question
“If we focus more on our duties and responsibilities rather than focusing just on our rights and freedom, can we make this world a better place?”
The question is relevant to not only the contestants, but to us as well – while congratulating the new winners, may be we ask ourselves the same.
