Two Indian men lost their lives near the summit of Mount Kanchenjunga during an expedition on the world’s third highest mountain in Nepal on Thursday morning, said the expedition company.
Biplav Baidya, 48, and Kuntal Kanrar, 46, died overnight at the altitude of about 8,000 meters. They were from the Eastern Indian city of Kolkata.
According to Pasang Sherpa of the Peak Promotion hiking company, Baidya died of altitude sickness while Kanrar died while climbing the peak.
Sherpas have been deployed to bring the deceased. The dead bodies will be brought to Kathmandu after finding and bringing them to the camp II.
